Jr. Thespians Summer Camp is a no-audition camp designed to encourage fun and exploration in the theatre arts. Students will experience all of the excitement (and hard work) that goes into theatre, from team building with castmates to learning lines, choreography, new songs, blocking, props, and more. A few lucky students will get to shadow our experienced tech students backstage as well! Our script is based on a an award-winning script written by an RHS student for DramaFest this year and will be adapted to include parody songs with familiar tunes. All students who want a speaking part will get one and depending on the script, there may be an opportunity for some students to have a small solo in a song or dance. Our high school counselors work hard to find ways for each student to shine! The camp is organized, chaperoned, and sponsored by the RHS Drama Boosters, as a fundraiser to benefit the RHS Theatre Department, and directed by RHS students. This year's camp will be directed by RHS alumnus Joey Johnson, who is getting her degree in theatre education. Camp will take place on the stage at RHS but is NOT otherwise affiliated with Lake Washington School District or Redmond High School. Direct questions regarding the camp to juniorthespians@redmonddrama.org.
