Miscast Cabaret

What Is Miscast Cabaret?

Miscast Cabaret is a one-night event featuring RHS students performing songs from roles they are unlikely to ever be cast in (due to gender, race, age, voice type, or other variable)

Changing the roles can alter the dynamic or meaning of a song, which creates a new perspective for the audience. The results are sometimes thought-provoking, other times hilarious. Maybe you’ll see a female Gaston or a male Eliza Hamilton. A Caucasian person singing Breathe from In the Heights or a near-adult singing Naughty from Matilda. Join us for this entertaining mix-up of your favorite Broadway songs.

A Benefit for The Trevor Project

Our Miscast Cabaret is run entirely by students and is presented by the RHS Drama Boosters. All proceeds go to the charity of the students' choice, The Trevor Project. In leiu of admission, all guests are encouraged to donate to The Trevor Project. We also will provide cash donation bins at the door, and guests are encouraged to bring cash to participate in live fundraisers during the performance.
