What Is DramaFest?
DramaFest is a student-run theatre festival.
Playwrights: Students write and submit scripts for consideration. Scripts can be funny or serious and some shows may include content warnings for mature themes (similar to PG-13).
Directors: Students (typically seniors, but not always) audition to direct a show and once the directors and scripts are selected, the directors meet to "battle" over their favorite scripts.
Actors: DramaFest is a no-cut show and a great way for students to "try out" theatre. Actors audition for all directors, who may ask some students to come back and read for their script. Directors then "battle" over actors and the cast list is announced.
Process: Directors schedule rehearsals, and direct all aspects of the show from actor notes, to blocking/staging, to props and set.
